FBI, Secret Service, Others Raid UPS Contractor

A breaking news story in Tennessee tells us that several government agencies have raided a UPS trucking contractor, Swift Transportation in Memphis, TN. Information is sketchy, but according to reports documents and computers were sized in the raid.

  2. “A U.P.S. contractor?!” Unless there is inside information that U.P.S. and it’s shipments via Swift are directly involved in the probe, and subsequent raid it is somewhat odd to refer to Swift as a U.P.S. contractor. Swift is a long haul company employing over 21,000 drivers, with multiple “contracts” including Fed-Ex.Swift hauls considerably more tonnage throughout any given fiscal quarter than U.P.S. sees in two. How do you justify this description, other than opinion-leading? This is like saying ” Wal-Mart, a McDonalds customer…”

  3. It says right in the linked news item “Swift Transportation dispatches more than 500 trucks per day, transporting mainly for the United Parcel Service.”
