UPS to Increase Freight Rates by 5.4%
January 15, 2008 – 7:05 amUnited Parcel Service Inc. said Friday its freight unit will increase rates on noncontractual shipments across the U.S and Canada by an average of 5.4 percent, effective Feb. 4. The hike applies to minimum charge, less-than-truckload and truckload rates. Late last year, FedEx announced a 5.5% general rate increase at its freight unit effective Jan. 14.
